Flight to Montreal from Mumbai

Had my booking for an early morning Air India Operated Air Canada flight to Montreal. The layover was at Heathrow. My cab booking from Pune to Mumbai International Airport was done for 11pm considering the traffic that I may encounter on the Pune Mumbai Express highway. However reached the airport in less than three hours, much before the boarding started. Tipped off the driver and walked into the airport looking for Air Canada counter. But then quickly realized that the check-in is managed by Air India , they being the Operator though the flight number on the ticket was of Air Canada (AC). The baggage allowance was 30kg along with one hand bag, I also had an additional laptop bag. There were no issues with checking the baggage as my baggage was weighing much below the allowance threshold. Travel accessories for my trip to Montreal in Winter

Decision and the travel to Montreal happened over two days, getting hold of the tickets and hotel reservation few hours before the flight. There wasn't much time for thoughts on selecting the airline nor for planning travel accessories.Apparently, I was headed for lot of surprises especially when travelling in the month of December. With just two days in hand, my last minute shopping were for: 1. Shoes 2. Jacket 3. Sweater 4. Thermal inners 5. Gloves Finding Snow Contact shoes in Pune suburbs was challenging. The salesman at one of the shops mentioned that I would need gum boots and suggested I check out Woodlands. Thus purchased a high heal leather shoe and a Jacket from Woodlands outlet in Aundh.                  But later realised that both the Shoe and Jacket (in-fact was a hoodie) were biker's gears,  and also was told that leather hardens when in contact with snow and the rubber soles don't work.
