Why is the net meter export readings less than the inverter energy generation?
Readings taken between Nov 20th and Dec 1st = 11 days Solar readings as on Dec 1st: EP - 84 kwh T1 - 83 kwh IP - 109 kwh T1 - 19 kwh T2 - 44 kwh T3 - 42 kwh Net - 24 units Inverter Energy reading - 108 kWh Net Meter export reading - 84 kWh Where did the remaining 24 units go? A Net Meter is a bi-directional energy meter that records both Import from the Grid and Export of Energy to the Grid. The inverter energy meter records the energy generated by the Solar Power Plant. A solar power plants generates energy during the day. It follows that any export of energy to the grid can happen only during the day. Consumption during the day is also therefore met partially or totally by the generation. Export during the day = Generation - consumption during the day From the above equation it is clear that Export will always be less than or equal to generation. In our case, we can assume 24 units was c onsumed during the day for the 11 days i.e = 108 (Generation) - 84 (Export during the...
